In All Things; Balance

Do we have balance?


My friend and Martial Arts instructor would always talk about balance (and he didn’t mean in my stance).


“To fight you must relax, to stay strong you must rest, in all things balance”.


Our culture works to push us forward. We even tend to “chase” our hobbies.  We rush from one activity to the other throwing ourselves at event after event. We appear more like a pendulum swinging rapidly from one side to the other.


We tend not to have balance.


The perception is that if we aren’t moving we aren’t getting anything done. I love it that we tend to brag about how busy we are like it is some badge of honor.


But maybe, just maybe if we force ourselves to settle, to breath once in a while, to focus on balance, we could be more productive – and happier –  than ever.
